My goals in teaching philosophy are (1) to equip students with methods of assessing arguments, both philosophical arguments and other arguments that they will encounter throughout their lives, and (2) to give them an opportunity to arrive at their own informed views on philosophical questions after having seen a variety of arguments relevant to those questions. The first of those goals pertains to all courses I teach, and especially to logic courses, of which I have taught a number. In all my teaching, I strive to make philosophy fun and exciting. I find philosophy fun and exciting myself, and I try to bring the reasons that I find it so to the fore.
